Our Team

Mark has been involved in data, communications and encryption for over 30 years. With his roots crafted in the British Army, Mark channels his vast experience into his role as Managing Director and Lead Data Protection Officer for JSIG.

Mark uses his deep expertise of data protection, privacy and information security to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and tailored solutions to both our clients and our growing network of channel partners.

A Computer Scientist for over 30 years – graduating with an honours degree in the mid-90s specialising in Neural Networks and Data Classification. Sunny has led the technology rollout for many organisations over the years and has been involved in projects at UK National Level requiring SC clearance where he worked closely with biometrics systems.

He couples his development knowledge with an extensive Business Analysis career that specialised in Regulatory Compliance within the financial sector for the last ten years – notable extended contracts were with Lloyds Banking Group and the Coventry Building Society. He delivers experience and drive into his role as the Commercial Director and Head of Development for JSIG.

Our History

THE BEGINNING

Formed in 2004 with a desire to help businesses enjoy the benefits of an 'electronic filing cabinet at their fingertips'. File Flatners Limited joined the world of document management, developing a strong client presence in the East of England with a steadily growing network of clients nationally.

THE EVOLUTION

In 2016, the Board of File Flatners Ltd took the decision to rebrand, in light of a new vision for growth and expansion of services. The brand? A tribute to the MD and founder's grandfather. A man whose qualities and values the Board strived to embody as the business advanced.

30th April, 2016

THE RESPONSE

Recognising and responding to the massive scale of change that the incoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was going to bring, John Munton, MD of Jack Simons, with business partner and Data Protection expert, Mark Povey, launched JS Data Protection Advisors.

11th July, 2017

THE TECH

The collective experience of seeing and understanding the vast Information Governance challenges faced by industry under the GDPR, lead to the creation of our sister software company Red Act Limited, joining forces with leading developer Sunny Curwen. Here, work began on our powerful GDPR discovery and redaction software - Savannah

THE TRANSFORMATION

JSIG (JS Information Governance Ltd) is launched following the merger of Jack Simons, JS Data Protection Advisors and Red Act, bringing together a huge amount of talent and experience under one roof. An exciting vision for our future is born.
